Requirements for Flames in Rotary Kiln Calcination

Appropriate flames and reasonable distribution of kiln temperature play a very important role in improving clinker production and quality, kiln skin thickness and length, kiln lining life, fuel consumption, cylinder temperature, reducing pollution and protecting the environment.
Therefore, cement rotary kilns have strict requirements for flames, especially in new dry-process rotary kilns, which require the shape, temperature and intensity of the flame to be adapted to the calcination of clinker in the rotary kiln.
Ensure efficient heat exchange over the entire flame length, while preventing local overheating of the kiln skin and peak temperature, and should be able to adapt to changes in kiln conditions.
To meet these requirements, the following conditions should be met:
①The air supply volume of the primary air should be as small as possible, and the coal-air mixture should be fully and evenly mixed, and the high-temperature secondary air should be fully utilized as much as possible to achieve the purpose of increasing production and saving energy.
②The combustion efficiency and coal powder burnout rate are high to avoid the decline in clinker quality and the occurrence of process accidents due to incomplete combustion.
③The flame shape is good and stable to adapt to the changing needs of the kiln conditions, the temperature field distribution in the kiln is reasonable, the peak temperature is avoided, and the flame has no pulse phenomenon.
④ The flame shape can be adjusted conveniently and flexibly according to needs.

⑤ The pulverized coal burner is safe and reliable, has a long service life, does not backfire, and can adapt to high temperatures and is wear-resistant.
⑥ It should have strong adaptability to coal quality and can adapt to the needs of fluctuating coal quality.
⑦ Ignition is easy and the temperature rises quickly to shorten the ineffective time and reduce labor intensity.
⑧ There should be hot flue gas backmixing in the flame jet to increase the ambient temperature of pulverized coal combustion and reduce oxygen concentration, which can increase the combustion rate, reduce the burnout time, and reduce the generation of NOx, which is beneficial to environmental protection.
