Slurry leakage between the
end cover and cylinder of the ball mill is mostly due to:
1. The processing accuracy of the end cover flange and the cylinder flange is not high. When the flange joint is at a high point of grinding, slurry will leak after assembly and operation;
2. During the on-site installation process, the bolts installed in the factory were not re-tightened and inspected, and the slurry entered the joint surface after loading, resulting in slurry leakage;
3. The rubber lining of the ball mill is usually installed on site. Before installation, the end cover and cylinder are not fastened and inspected as required. When laying the rubber lining, the overlap at the joint surface is not handled properly, resulting in slurry leakage.
For this kind of grout leakage, it is necessary to prevent it in advance.
First of all, we can start by improving the combination of the ball mill end cover and the cylinder flange. The operation method is the processing accuracy.
Secondly, whether in the factory or on site, when assembling the ball mill, the contact surface between the end cover and the cylinder flange should be cleaned to ensure that there are no bumps, scratches or other uneven spots on the flange surface. After inspection, the flange surface can be Apply a layer of yellow dry oil or black lead powder to increase its smoothness.
Finally, during assembly, it is necessary to strictly control whether the bolt tightening during assembly is in place, and tighten according to the specified bolt torque to ensure that the end cover and the cylinder flange joint surface are tightly combined.
Note: When the ball mill is assembled at the site of the selection plant, the bolts of the end cover and the cylinder flange must be tightened evenly according to the specifications to ensure that the joint surfaces of the end cover and the cylinder flange are tightly combined.
For ball mills with rubber liners, the liners need to be installed on site. Therefore, before installation, it is necessary to tighten the bolts on the end cover and cylinder as required.
